What it is
A laparoscopic radical prostatectomy removes the entire prostate and nearby seminal vesicles through small cuts, often with robotic assistance. It is a common treatment for prostate cancer that has not spread.
What the price covers
The hospital price covers the operating room, robotic equipment use and hospital stay. The surgeon, anesthesia and pathology of the removed prostate and any lymph nodes are usually billed separately.
