Sinus X-ray cost in Maryland
In Maryland, 13 hospitals publish a cash price for sinus X-ray, complete, 3 or more views: from $49.20 to $339.37, with a median of $223.93. The lowest price is at UPMC Western Maryland (Cumberland). The highest price is 6.9× the lowest.
Why Maryland prices look low: Maryland is the only state where a commission (the HSCRC) sets hospital rates for every payer, so its hospitals publish prices far below the rest of the country. A separate physician fee may still apply.

What it is
A sinus X-ray takes three or more pictures of the air-filled spaces in the face. It can show fluid or thickening, but a sinus CT (70486) gives far more detail and is the usual test before sinus surgery.
What the price covers
The hospital price usually covers taking the X-ray. The radiologist's reading is often billed separately.
