What it is
This lumbar fusion combines an interbody cage placed between two vertebrae with bone graft along the back of the spine, usually with screws and rods. It is the most common single-level lower back fusion, often done at L4-L5 or L5-S1.
What the price covers
The hospital price usually covers the operating room, recovery and supplies. The surgeon and anesthesia usually bill separately, and screws, rods and cages may be billed as implants.
