Cash or insurance?

If you have insurance but have not met your deductible, you usually pay your plan's negotiated rate, which falls somewhere in the "Insurers pay" column. Paying cash can cost less, but a cash payment usually does not count toward your deductible. Ask the hospital for both numbers before you book.
What it is
This test looks for the genetic material of high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV), the types linked to cervical cancer, and reports one positive or negative result for the group. It is used for cervical cancer screening, alone or together with a Pap test.
What the price covers
The price usually covers the HPV test only. The visit where the sample is collected and a Pap test on the same sample (88142) are billed separately.
