What it is
A coronary calcium score CT is a quick scan of the heart that measures calcium deposits in the heart's arteries, a sign of plaque. The result, a calcium score, helps estimate heart disease risk in people without symptoms. No contrast dye or IV is used.
What the price covers
The hospital price usually covers the scan and the calcium score calculation. The reading by a radiologist or cardiologist may be billed separately.
