What it is
This is a screening colonoscopy for someone without symptoms who is at high risk of colorectal cancer, for example because of a close relative with the disease, earlier polyps or inflammatory bowel disease. G0105 is a Medicare code; for people at high risk Medicare covers it as often as every 2 years.
What the price covers
The facility price usually covers the procedure room and recovery. The gastroenterologist, anesthesia, the bowel-prep medicine and any pathology are usually billed or bought separately.
