What it is

Prevnar 13 is an older pneumococcal conjugate vaccine against 13 types of the bacteria behind pneumonia, meningitis and ear infections. Newer vaccines with more types (Vaxneuvance, Prevnar 20 and Capvaxive) have largely replaced it, but some hospitals still list it.

What the price covers

The price is for the vaccine dose. Giving the shot is usually a separate line (code 90471 for the first vaccine of the visit, 90472 for each additional one).
