What it is

This code covers surgically placing a dental implant, a small titanium or zirconia post, into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. After the bone heals around it, usually over several months, a connector and a crown are attached in later steps.

What the price covers

D6010 covers placing the implant post itself. The abutment, the implant crown, bone grafting, sinus lift, extraction, 3D scans (cone beam CT) and sedation are billed under separate codes.
