Cash or insurance?

What it is
A hip X-ray takes two or three pictures of one hip joint, sometimes with a view of the pelvis. It is ordered for hip pain, a suspected fracture after a fall, or to check arthritis before or after hip replacement.
What the price covers
The hospital price usually covers taking the images of one hip. The radiologist's reading is often billed separately.
