What it is
A sleeve gastrectomy removes most of the stomach through small cuts, leaving a narrow tube-shaped stomach that holds much less food. It is a weight-loss (bariatric) operation for people with severe obesity, often with related conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
What the price covers
