What it is
An upper endoscopy (EGD) uses a thin, flexible camera passed through the mouth to look at the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine. It is used to look into heartburn, trouble swallowing, bleeding or stomach pain. This diagnostic version takes no biopsy.
