Cash or insurance?

What it is
This is treatment of a broken distal radius, the forearm bone near the wrist, when the bone does not need to be pushed back into place and no surgery is done. Treatment is usually a splint or cast and follow-up checks.
What the price covers
The code covers the fracture care; for the treating doctor this usually includes follow-up visits over the following weeks. X-rays, the emergency room visit and casting supplies may be billed separately.
